Achilles the Blue Heeler has been working on the
ranch since 2000. We bought him as a 6 week old puppy and he has never
been a typical cattle dog. He is more loving with others rather than being
so attached to one person and he is the worst guard dog we have ever had.
Neither traits are the norm for this breed. Achilles has a very soft
mouth and an easy manner with the cattle until you really get him
excited. Working with AI cows has taught him to push without
biting unless he is given the OK. Learning this technique keeps the cattle
